My name is Kat.
I photograph color.
Wherever I find it.
Usually in cities, but I'm not picky.

I love design, form, shape, & pattern.
I love the way the light plays off of it.
I love photographing pieces of things - buildings, cars, people.
My photographs are visual notes - this is what I saw when I was there.

Do you see it, too? I hope so!

Though I am primarily self-taught, I have taken several workshops that have helped guide my vision along the way. They are listed below.

I also find a TON of inspiration on Flickr.com, a photo-sharing website/blog. Through looking at the work of others, my own work is shaped. I'm constantly humbled by the images I see posted there.

The Center for Photography, Woodstock, NY (with Antonin Kratochvil)

Palomar College, San Marcos, CA (with Donna Cosentino)

AmericanPHOTO Mentor Series Workshop, New York City (with Jay Maisel)

The Museum of Photographic Arts, San Diego with (Philipp Scholz Rittermann)

The Julia Dean Workshops (with Bill Foley)

UCSD Extension Courses "Mastering the Language of Photography" &

"Drawing with Light" with artist Brenda Regier

I also play with color using yarn.
If you'd like to see some of my knitted objects,
they can be found at www.Scarfaholic.com, or
